ELEPHANT CONSERVATION & PROTECTION AND EDUCATION PROGRAMS SUPPORT

LAO ELEPHANT INITIATIVE COMMITMENT

Lao Elephant Initiative is committed to supporting impactful and sustainable education programs, partnerships, and protection and conservation efforts that benefit Laotian elephants, their habitats, and Laotian communities. We support projects that are not only effective, but also ethically and culturally appropriate, ensuring meaningful, long-term impact.

Applicants must demonstrate that the goals, methods, and interventions associated with their requests are effective, feasible, and inclusive of all relevant stakeholders. Community involvement and local perspectives are essential to successful conservation, and we prioritize initiatives that integrate these elements.

Lao Elephant Initiative does not support activities or interventions that have been proven ineffective. We strongly encourage applicants to research their proposed methods thoroughly, drawing from past conservation efforts to understand what has been tried, how it has been implemented, and what lessons can be applied. By building on existing knowledge and best practices, we can create innovative, sustainable solutions that truly make a difference for elephants and their ecosystems.
